herbal, native plants that you can grow and use. Many native herbs can be used
to make easy home remedies. Cheryl will explain several easy ways to use the
plants you grow. If the weather permits Cheryl will guide the class through the
small Sierra Club Native Plant Garden next to Cheryl’s Herbs. Participants
will be able to view a few of the plants included in the class as well as other
handsome Missouri natives. Taught by Cheryl Hoard of Cheryl's Herbs. Please

HOLIDAY
HERBS & AROMATICS
Herbs
and essential oils comfort us with the enjoyable tastes and aromas of the
holiday season. Aromatic herbs and spices have played a vital role in health,
healing, lifestyle and religion since the beginning of recorded history. The
pursuit and trade of these exotics significantly influenced many aspects of
world history by facilitating cultural exchange of lifestyle, society and
religion and also led to the discovery of new lands including the Americas.
Learning about the historical use of these herbs and modern health benefits will
offer deeper appreciation of these familiar holiday traditions that include
Orange, Cinnamon, Clove, Cardamon, Ginger, Evergreens, Frankincense and Myrrh.
Very herbal hot-spiced cider made from herbs discussed in class will be served.
Several essential oils, herbs and teas will be sampled and everyone will make
their own fragrant room spray to create a holiday atmosphere at home. Taught by
Cheryl Hoard, owner of Cheryl's Herbs. Please contact us for a reservation. Cost:
$20
