USES OF OUR MISSOURI NATIVE PLANTS
Taught by Cheryl Hoard of Cheryl's Herbs. THURSDAY, SEPT 23, 2010 7:00 - 9:00 pm Fee:
$20 Autumn is the time to
begin planning changes for next year’s garden. Class night, September 23, is
the Autumnal equinox and coincidentally the same night as the full moon known as
the harvest moon. What a perfect evening to gather and increase our appreciation
of plants. Learn about a small but
increasingly popular group of herbal, native plants that you can grow and use.
Many native herbs can be used to make easy home remedies. Cheryl will explain
several easy ways to use the plants you grow. There will be a demonstration of
balm making and tea tasting. If the weather permits
Cheryl will guide the class through the small Sierra Club Native Plant Garden
next to Cheryl’s Herbs. Participants will be able to view a few of the plants
included in the class as well as other handsome Missouri natives. Cheryl will also introduce the Cheryl’s Herbs Native Collection, herbal products designed to encourage the cultivation and preservation of American native plant species. Herbs
