Jasmine's Baby Book
This was the first time I met Jeff and Cheryl. I was only three weeks old! I really liked Jeff. He was warm and fuzzy and I fit in his hand. He said he would come and visit me every week and he did!
OK. Maybe I did look more like a guinea pig for a few weeks...
Cheryl came to visit me every week too. Down in the lower left of the picture, that's my mom!
I tried to get bigger every week. Jeff said I was doing a great job.
Jeff read somewhere that a good puppy will let you lie them on their back and not get squirmy so I was very still even though he was waving my arms around like an orchestra conductor. Here I am telling the trumpets to play softer. Jeff said that is the first thing an orchestra conductor must learn.
This is me, mom and my two brothers and two sisters. Can you tell which one is me?
Before I could go home with Jeff & Cheryl, I had to show I could eat real food by myself.
It's really hard when the food dish is bigger than you are!
Waitin' a whole week to see Jeff & Cheryl was really hard. And every week seemed to be longer than the week before! Hangin' with Mickey and Teddy really helped. All the pups got a piece of Teddy to take with them to their new homes. I call my piece Footie.
Finally one day Jeff & Cheryl came and took me home with them! Here I am in my new home. I'm just over 7 weeks old in this picture. I'm very proud to be looking more like a puppy now than a guinea pig!
Jeff & Cheryl's weird friends Jon & Lucy brought me this bone. They said it was the only bone I would ever need. Ya think?
I have a nice big back yard to run around in with lots of tasty things to eat. I really like dandelions!
The first dog I ever met was Riley. He was a nice old dog. It took about a minute just to walk all the way around him!
One day Jeff & Cheryl took me to visit my sister Sophia. Boy, was that fun! I hadn't seen her in nearly two months! She's still bigger than I am and she's still stronger than I am but I'm still cuter than she is!
Here I am playing in the backyard. I am now 4 and 1/2 months old! Jeff has funny names for my toys. So far I have learned 12 of them and can bring them to him when he asks (if I feel like it!).
This is frizbee. This is the toy I used to teach Jeff the game he calls "fetch".
Anything that looks like a stick is a stick. This one is made of some very hard fish material. I think it is for cats. I don't care. I like it anyway. Sometimes Jeff lets me bring in the sticks I find outside and chew on them for awhile. Sticks are cool. They're all different.
This is rope. It was my first toy (after footie) and it's still one of my favorites. I can just chew on it or play tug-of-war with Jeff. Everybody should have a rope.
This is donut. It's made of loofa which Jeff says is a fruit but it doesn't taste much like fruit. It doesn't taste like a donut either.
This is pillow. It looks like a pizza. It doesn't taste any more like a pizza than donut tastes like a donut. I really think dog toy manufacturers could do a better job of that. It has a squeaker in it but I've only managed to squeak it once or twice. My mouth is not big enough yet!
Besides the ones above there's also ball (actually several), bone, chewy, tail, froggie and porkie. They're mostly at the shop, except for ball which I haven't been able to find for a couple of days.
Early in August we went to visit my farm-dog friends near Salem, MO. After I wore out all the farm dogs and Jeff doused me with Catnip spray to keep the bugs away, the only one who would play with me was this little cat. And she wouldn't leave me alone! It's fun to play with a cat but you've got to watch your eyes!
I made friends with old Oak early on and he stayed close to me so I wouldn't get into too much trouble. Eddy (not pictured) was jealous of me 'cause I'm so cute and kept barking and growling at me the whole time I was there. He's such a baby!
This is my friend Julie, a little one-year old cocker who was looking for a home. She is just so sweet. I was happy when our friends Ken and Marsha agreed to adopt her. She gets to live in a health food store! (To the left is part of Eddy. I call him Barky. Upper left is part of me! The feet belong to Cheryl.)
One
day recently, Jeff came home and had Julie with him! She has come to visit while
Ken recovers from a
This is my sister, Sophia Jr. She came to visit me one day when a whole lot of people came over to my house and got all excited about some teeny amount of blue liquid they managed to coax out of some yarrow after working darn near all day on it. Sophia Jr. and I had a great time! I hope everybody will come and visit me at Cheryl's Herbs. I'm there nearly every day. I am also co-moderator of the Herbs and Aromatherapy for Pets Forum at cherylsherbs.com so if you have any questions you can write to me there.
