I am always striving to find more natural ways of doing things. The biggest motivation I have is to not damage the earth any further and to actually do things that will help reverse the damage which has already been done.

Our modern society has been offered so many enticing new things to eat, to play with and to use for more efficiency at our various jobs. There are all kinds of new products offered to us to take care of ourselves and our homes. Especially we Americans have so willingly embraced these things offered to us by manufacturers and businesses. The technology and modernization happening now is quite impressive.

There is one part of this modernization for which I am happy to offer alternatives. I feel that we have natural substances at our disposal around us which could be used in the daily routines in which most of us participate. There are natural products which could lessen the need for so many synthetic chemicals. I know we are assured by our experts and authorities that many of these chemicals are safe for us to use but I cannot help but to consider that maybe at the very least, it would be easier on the earth if we didn’t have to manufacture and use so many of them. I feel a deep responsibility to not foul our environment any more than we absolutely have to.

These chemicals are used exclusively for all kinds of scented, brightly colored personal and household items that include features for more attractive bubbles, varieties of textures etc. that have nothing to do with the job the product performs. Just for my own conscience I choose to not embrace these kinds of products or make my living participating in things that I do not feel are actually helpful to the whole. Just the fact that people will buy it and money is being made, is not enough of a reason for me to participate in the process.

I truly believe that every little thing has an impact on the whole. Many little things can add up to something quite significant. I tend to think in terms of "Let it begin with me". Creating Cheryl’s Herbs has been an opportunity for me to help people and the earth as well. I know you cannot change other people, you can only be an example. Here at Cheryl’s Herbs we live this philosophy. We use these products everyday and are delighted to provide alternatives to the numerous synthetic products that surround us.
