For many people it is a great
relief to disinfect and deodorize without chemicals! Quite a few advantages come
with using herbs & essential oils to clean because they have antibacterial,
antiviral, antifungal properties, insects and rodents dislike their smells yet
they smell wonderful to people and they also promote health and well-being by
supporting your immune and respiratory system. Learn how to make products for
all household cleaning, furniture polishing, upkeep of pet areas, pest control
and even washing your car!
Many
of us are thinking more about what we flush down our drains into the environment
and the indoor chemicals we breath on a regular basis from our household
cleaning products, air fresheners, new carpeting, refinishing products, pest
control products and the list goes on. Just because companies are constantly
marketing new items to maintain your household doesn't automatically mean they
are a good addition to your routine. Now there are spray on, no-scrub tub and
tile cleaners, things to spray on clothes and carpets in place of cleaning them
and new and different chemical treated, disposable cleaning and dusting cloths.
If all of us visited a landfill once a year, smelled and looked at it, we
probably would think more before using all the new disposal cleaning items
available today.
Next
to the chemically laden skin and hair care products we put on our bodies, the
second most heavily applied chemical areas are our homes! We buy more detergent
at supermarkets than any other item! More than any food item! Old-fashioned soap
was not so harmful to our bodies and the environment. Today soap and detergent
are chemical products. They not only contain cleaning agents but synthetic
perfumes, booster, enzymes, fillers, brighteners, bubble size adjusters and the
list goes on. Do we really need all these different kinds of cleaning products
if we have natural cleaning agents that are better and safer?
